The Fitz-Patrick Mythology
Migration
of Gaels
NOTE: A Modern Day Proposal For Migration of
Gaels
Haplogroup H is a predominantly
European haplogroup that participated in a population expansion beginning
approximately 20,000 years ago. Today, about 30% of all mitochondrial lineages
in Europe are classified as haplogroup H. It is rather uniformly distributed
throughout Europe suggesting a major role in the peopling of Europe, and
descendant lineages of the original haplogroup
H appear in the Near East as a result of migration.
The researchers make a bigger deal out
of the differences in MtDNA haplogroup H than I think are actually warranted,
with prehistoric groups displaying
between 37-44% and modern day Basque
displaying 48%. It still looks to me that
5000 YBP, Basque groups still had a very high frequency of haplogroup H - only
slightly lower than present day
populations. I do believe we have
direct relations to the Basque as this study as shown. Gaelic (Irish) and Basque are the two most
original languages in Europe.
Based mitochondrial DNA, Mac Giolla
Padraigh belong to haplogroup H, which is also the most common one in Europe.
Our main difference is the fact that our group also split off and went west
from M89 into northern Africa across from the Straits of Gibralter. This also shows our Scythian roots as well.
